A motorist lost control of their vehicle round a bend on the N22 around 5.15pm, and crashed into a tree. The car was completely written off, while the driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Further accidents on Friday 

A child was knocked down by a car on Rue de l'Eglise in Niederkorn at 4.50pm on Friday. Further details were not supplied on the child's injuries following the accident.

Two people were injured after their vehicle hit a rock between Mersch and Schoenfels at 5.10pm.

Shortly before 5.30pm, one person was injured in a collision between a bus and a lorry, on the road between Useldange and Boevange-sur-Attert.
