Ever since, the Ministry for Family Affairs and Integration has been holding discussions on how to solve this particular issue. Officials have furthermore approached the Chamber's respective commission ahead of actually deposing a draft bill so that both entities can consult each other on how to proceed in the most efficient manner. Simultaneously, the ministry hopes that this way the final bill will receive the widest possible support when put up for vote in the Chamber.

Minister for Family Affairs and Integration Corinne Cahen has already advanced a respective proposal, however not receiving substantial support from MPs in the commission. Marc Spautz (CSV) noted: "Children's rights are an important issue for us, and we still want to hear all propositions put forward by members outside of the administration. It is our goal to find a feasible solution for everyone."

Commission president Max Hahn also commented on the situation, explaining that nobody was satisfied with the decision to transfer children's rights for financial support onto their parents. Nevertheless, to this day it appears to be the only solution on the table that would allow an adaptation to EU norms. Discussions on the matter will continue to be held over the upcoming weeks.
