
At around 4pm on Thursday, a pupil was followed by a group of teenagers on his way home from school in Mertzig. The gang held the victim down while they stole his coat, wallet, phone and headphones.
Police officers were able to find three suspects at the Mertzig football pitch and confiscated the stolen items. One of the youths became aggressive when confronted and succeeded in damaging a police vehicle in the process.
The suspects were returned to their respective guardians, while police complaints were filed against all perpetrators.
At 6.40am on Friday morning, a woman was attacked by two men on Rue de Bonnevoie in Luxembourg City. The muggers succeeded in stealing her handbag.
A bystander tried to follow the suspects but eventually lost sight of them. However, in their escape, they dropped the victim’s phone, which was then returned to her by this good Samaritan. A police investigation has been launched, but the suspects had not yet been identified at the time of writing.
