The ceremony at the Glacis chapel was held in memory of victims of the Second World War, particularly honouring the 23 Luxembourgish resistance fighters who were executed at Hinzert concentration camp on 25 February 1944.
The National Resistance Museum in Esch-sur-Alzette is also hosting a lecture on the history of the Luxembourg Volunteer Company between 1938 and 1945 on Tuesday evening.
