The national airline took over the licence from Air Berlin at the end of 2017, with the goal of transporting 100,000 passengers per year.
In 2018, the airline only transported 80,000 passengers on the route.
Negotiations are ongoing and hoping to quickly come to a conclusion, said a Luxair spokesperson to the Luxembourger Wort.
Tickets are currently only available until March 2020.
