The new application should enable users to discover the capital and all its services.

Information in the app ranges from the nearest playgrounds or parks to the bus timetables of the user's most-used bus lines: the application is completely customisable.

In its press release, the municipality stated that the Home screen allows the user to personalise the application according to their habits and the information they wish to access "in the blink of an eye".

The "cityapp" also offers a "scalable map" as well as valuable information for the capital's residents such as dates of waste collection, water quality, taxi and car-sharing locations and even the vél'Oh stations.
For others, the possibility of discovering points of interest ranging from sport to art and culture could also be very useful. According to the municipality, this section will be "complemented by shops, restaurants and cafés" starting from the end of October. Additionally, the location of water fountains or public toilets can also be consulted.

Finally, the "mobility" tab is sure to become a favourite in no-time, as it allows users to follow their bus or tram routes in real time, check timetables or choose a parking space that is not full before they even set off for the capital.

The application, which is available in three languages (French, German, English), was developed based on surveys carried out since February 2019. The municipality states that more than 1,700 "future users" shared their opinions which were taken into account during the development of the "cityapp".

The project was developed over the course of seven months, was tested in August and cost nearly €350,000. The application was finally launched on 29 September and is now available on both the App Store and the Google Play Store.
