The three designated ministers are set to take on their new government responsibilities on 5 January 2022. The official ceremony will be held at 11am at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg City.
Prior to that, outgoing Ministers Pierre Gramegna, Romain Schneider, and Dan Kersch will offer their resignation to Grand Duke Henri.
Former lady steward of the court Yuriko Backes will become Minister of Finance, former Diekirch Mayor Claude Haagen will become Minister of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development, as well as Minister of Social Security, while LSAP fraction leader Georges Engel will become Minister of Sport and Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy.
Outgoing Ministers Gramegna and Schneider will retire, while Minister Kersch will continue his political career in the Chamber of Deputies.
