The National Relief Organisation Grand-Duchess Charlotte has launched an app called 'Cliché' to tackle prejudice, discrimination and racism.

The new platform will be available for students as well as teachers. The app was presented on Wednesday morning, and hopes to become an open and interactive space where photography plays a central role.

Hence the name 'Cliché', which on the one hand stands for stereotypes, but also for photography. Cliché.lu is intended to give artists an opportunity to present projects that go hand-in-hand with integration and coexistence. Not only artists are targeted, emphasises director Emile Lutgen.
The other groups involved are historians, sociologists, political scientists - in fact anyone who deals with the subject. The target audience is the pupils, students, scouts, and the Maison de Jeunes.

The photos should be the main focus of the app, though not only those of professionals, stresses Antonia Ganeto from the intercultural centre for education. There should be a space for young artists to share their photographs. The goal is to create a dialogue between different perspectives - image, text, and films are the perfect way to achieve this.

The platform will also offer texts by authors and experts, as well as testimonials by residents or by those who have recently moved to Luxembourg. In addition, the app will provide activities and pedagogical activities for anyone who works with young people. The developers thus hope to connect the theme of migration with the artistic world.

The relief organisation has also launched a call for donations of around €135,000 for the artists, teachers, and students.
