In August 2026, a new vehicle inspection centre opened its doors in Wiltz, expanding the options available for motorists in the north of the country. This move follows the 2018 announcement by the Ministry for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure that the previous inspection station in Wilwerwiltz would be closing. LU KS, previously operating only in Lorentzweiler, now also serves customers in Wiltz.

For several years now, vehicle inspections in Luxembourg are no longer the sole responsibility of the National Society of Automotive Traffic (SNCA). Private operators, including Luerenzweiler Kontrollstatioun SARL (LU KS) and DEKRA Automotive SARL, have also been authorised to carry out these technical checks, offering motorists more flexibility and choice.
