
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, two young men were robbed in the Municipal Park in Luxembourg City. A group of strangers stole their phones and wallets after a brief altercation. The victims were however able to alert the police, who identified and detained the four presumed culprits soon after. The men were then arrested brought in front of an examining magistrate by order of the prosecutor's office.
On Monday morning, an adolescent was approached by a group of four in Kirchberg. He was told to empty his pockets, but managed to keep ahold of his wallet and escaped. Soon after, a police patrol was able to identify the four men on the tram near Luxexpo. Charges were pressed.
A violent mugging also took place in Belval. Around 1 p.m. on Monday, two young men were attacked and robbed. The culprit injured one of them in the face, stole a pair of headphones and tried to flee the scene. A police patrol later identified the man near Boulevard Charles de Gaulle. After a quick search, officers confiscated the stolen headphones, as well as a knife. Charges were pressed.
