In response to a question raised by the opposition, Claude Meisch confirmed that to date no infections had been traced back to school transport.
The topic came up following the issue of exit authorisations for those in quarantine, as the law currently allows people who have come into contact with a person testing positive for Covid-19 to attend school. In order to do this, it must be an isolated case and the infection must not be traced back to the school environment.
Meisch explained a quarantined pupil had the right to attend school, provided they were not going anywhere else and wore a face covering while at school.
In classes where two or more people have been quarantined, the whole class should follow suit. Meisch justified this approach, stating infections were rare in schools.
