The Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) made the announcement in a press release on Wednesday morning.

According to the trade union, the group's management has confirmed its intention to reorganise its activities in the Benelux region. This is expected to result in the loss of 450 jobs in the Benelux area by 2023, but Luxembourg will not be affected.

"There will be no staff lay-offs in Luxembourg", management reportedly told the trade union in a meeting on Tuesday 20 October.

Restructuring will, however, have an impact on jobs, since "the management does plan to eliminate some jobs and create new ones" to cope with competition from e-commerce.

The OGBL stated that it had agreed with the group's management to give priority to continuing professional training and joint support for the employees affected by this restructuring. A job retention plan is currently being discussed.
