When it comes to the planned easing of restrictions on 13 June, and the accompanying introduction of "Covid Checks", there is still a lot of room for interpretation, Schroeder noted during his interview. He further warned that we are potentially creating a counterproductive situation in terms of virus response, where inside events could take place while outside gatherings are still prohibited.
Schroeder further questioned whether the Covid Check procedure will allow private people to start organising large-scale events at home, which his federation strongly supports.

As a small reminder, the government recently introduced the so-called Covid Checks, which will certify vaccinations, tests, and recoveries in relation to Covid-19. The measure intends to allow for events of up to 300 people to be organised again, without any distancing or mask mandates.
Schroeder underlined that the Luxembourg Event Association strongly supports the easing of measures. However, they also hoped to receive somewhat of a more concrete timeline for the upcoming months, so that it would be easier to plan and organise ahead.
When asked about perseverance in the event sector, Schroeder explained that he was proud of how businesses managed to handle the pandemic since the beginning of the outbreak. He said he was in fact not aware of a single business that had to declare bankruptcy as a result of the health crisis. Government support has helped a great deal, Schroeder emphasised. Given that the pandemic is not over yet, the interviewee also underlined the importance of keeping the financial support mechanisms intact during the easing of measures.
