
Dozens of firefighters were called to put out two fires which had started in the middle of the night.
The first fire was reported in a silo located in the industrial zone in Rumelange shortly after midnight. Fire fighters from Rumelange, Kayl, Esch-sur-Alzette, Dudelange, Bettembourg, Luxembourg City, as well as an ambulance from Esch-sur-Alzette were on site.
The second fire occurred further north, in Niederpallen, about an hour and a half later. A storage building was engulfed in flames. This required the intervention of six rescue centres (Beckerich, Bissen, Ell, Redange, Useldange, as well as an ambulance from Rambrouch).
According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), no one was injured in these incidents.
