
Trade unions OGBL and LCGB have demanded that SES provide an employment retention plan, known as "Plan de maintien dans l'Emploi" in Luxembourg.
The unions stressed that there are various alternatives to layoffs. They for instance cited the options of not replacing staff that are leaving the company of their own free will, offering incentives for voluntary departures and early retirement adjustment, part-time work, or of reassigning staff.
The unions currently do not exclude the possibility of taking the issue to Luxembourg's national conciliation service.
