The trade union deplores that instead of demanding that a cross-border worker account for the child of their partner in order to receive child benefits, the Ministry now refers to a law from 1959 and demands that a cross-border workers must have a "filiation" (lien de filiation) with the child in order to receive child benefits.

According to the OGBL, this proves that "budgetary considerations" are more important to the government than implementing "progressive social policy".
