Luxair cancelled its Friday evening flights to Sal (LG 371) and Rome (LG 6555), citing “operational constraints” caused by maintenance delays and a temporary runway closure at Luxembourg Airport. The airline said delays in maintenance procedures affected the availability of several Boeing 737 aircraft.
These issues, combined with a temporary runway closure on Friday afternoon, led to the cancellations.
Passengers were informed directly. Luxair apologised for the disruption and thanked customers for their understanding, adding that all necessary measures were being taken to minimise the impact of the situation.
To ensure continuity of its flight schedule during a period of high weekend demand, Luxair has secured additional aircraft capacity. The airline has reached an agreement with Danish Air Transport (DAT) to temporarily lease an Airbus A320 to support operations in the coming days.
Luxair noted that it has successfully collaborated with DAT in the past.
