The delivery van was stopped by SRPR Nord officers on the northern motorway at around 3.30pm.
The maximum weight permitted for a vehicle of this size is 3 tonnes - however, the van's load was 4.4 tonnes. The driver was made to empty the van's contents and was given a warning.
