The curfew will return to its 'old' time before the Christmas break (11pm-6am), schools will reopen for physical classes, non-essential shops may open their doors, as well as sports halls, swimming pools, cinemas, museums and theatres.

However, these reopenings take place within "a strict framework", insisted various ministers. Indeed, each sector is entitled to its own set of regulations.

In shops, masks are compulsory and the rule of one customer per 10 m2 must be respected. The rules for sport are a little more complex - here you find a detailed article explaining them. The same goes for culture - read this article.

Despite these changes some rules remain in place, such as limiting the number of guests at home to two. Alcohol remains prohibited in public spaces.

The hospitality sector remains closed.

These restrictions are expected to last until 31 January.
