As the number of new infections is slowly decreasing, many are wondering when the containment measures will be lifted.

Paulette Lenert told the  Lëtzebuerger Wort on Friday that the data surrounding the virus was becoming more stable, but at least another week of observation was required before the government could confirm any projections. However, a solid starting point for the future could begin to emerge over the next ten days.

What is clear is not all containment measures will be lifted simultaneously, with the return to normal life to be completed in stages whilst maintaining a modicum of social distancing measures.

For now, Lenert urged the public to exercise patience and to continue staying at home where possible, only leaving the house for essential trips such as grocery shopping or doctor appointments.
