The woman was about to cross the street when the car hit her. The driver fled the scene after the accident, but police were able to identify the man while emergency services brought the woman to the hospital. Although the driver’s alcohol test came back positive, the results remained below the permitted limit, which is why he was able to keep his licence.
Shortly before midnight, officers also pulled over a reckless driver in Kayl. Upon carrying out standard checks on the man, they found that he was drunk and therefore pressed charges.
