According to a police report, the man was found at the junction between Place Norbert Metz and Rue Saint Antoine shortly before 8am on Thursday morning. The victim was said to have had an altercation with another man, who fled the scene.
Another person who attempted to intervene also suffered minor knife injuries.
The perpetrator has not yet been found. The victim was taken to hospital for emergency surgery.
An investigation has been launched.
