A draft bill opens up the possibility of candidates from the private sector filling management positions in public schools. Only civil servants can take up these roles at the moment.
After fierce criticism Minister of Education Claude Meisch placed the bill on hold and called for a debate in the Chamber.
Petition 1717 has garnered over 4,600 signatures as of Monday morning.
