The police had to intervene on several occasions due to motorists driving under the influence this Saturday.

Local witnesses reported a drunk driver near Aire de Capellen to the police on Saturday around 18.30. The man was stopped for a breathalyser test, which concluded his clear breach of tolerated alcohol consumption behind the steering wheel. His license was retracted immediately.

A car crash occurred in Esch-sur-Alzette the same afternoon, where a vehicle with two individuals had driven into the entrance of a house on Rue Barbourg. According to the police report, the driver failed to show clear signs of sobriety, while the passenger had fallen asleep. The driver was held at the local police station until sober and given a conviction for driving under the influence.

A further crash was reported to the police in Schieren around 22.00, as a truck reportedly had driven into a tree. The two passengers who were slightly injured refused an ambulance. The driver's license was suspended.

The last drunk-driving accident occurred in Differdange around 01.00 on Sunday morning. The driver lost control over his vehicle and drove into a parked car, resulting in a chain reaction. Two further vehicles were damaged. Once again, the driver lost his license due to drink driving.
