Police responded to almost 70 incidents across Luxembourg over the weekend, the majority of which involved night-time disturbances. In most cases, the situation had already calmed down before officers arrived, or it was resolved on site.

Violent altercation in Rollingen leads to overnight detention

A more serious incident occurred in Rollingen. At a café on Rue de Luxembourg, a man who was heavily intoxicated reportedly sought out a fight and engaged in an argument with other customers. After being expelled from the premises, he attempted to drive away but was stopped by police outside. Officers prevented him from leaving and asked him to take a breathalyser test. The man became increasingly aggressive and uncooperative, forcing officers to restrain him. He was placed in detention for the night.

Drug checks at Remerschen result in citations

On Saturday afternoon, police carried out major checks around the lakes in Remerschen, with particular attention to drug-related offences. Four people were cited for possession of cannabis, and fines were issued in three cases. The operation involved 24 police officers.
