A police patrol was overtaken at high speed in Rue Cents around 11.20pm on Sunday. Officers stopped the vehicle in Neudorf and carried out a check, discovering that the driver was subject to an arrest warrant for unpaid fines.

In these cases, so-called 'contrainte par corps' (constraint by body) procedures apply, meaning a person may be sent to prison if they refuse or are unable to pay financial penalties.

The relevant procedures were subsequently initiated by authorities.

In Hobscheid early on Tuesday morning, police noticed a car driving erratically along Rue de Steinfort. Officers pulled the vehicle over and identified the driver, spotting a bag containing syringes on the back seat.

The driver admitted when asked that she had consumed heroin. Further searches uncovered various drug paraphernalia, which were confiscated. The police drew up the necessary report.
