Hôpitaux Robert Schuman (HRS) has further expanded its medical offering at Cloche d'Or, with the launch of a new centre dedicated to outpatient eye surgery. This follows the opening, a year ago, of an additional facility for medical imaging in the Zénith complex on Boulevard Raiffeisen.
The new ophthalmology centre will focus on planned surgical interventions that can be performed on an outpatient basis, as part of HRS's ongoing strategy to provide decentralised, ambulatory treatment wherever possible.
Located on the second floor of the Zénith building, the facility covers 800 square metres and features two fully equipped operating theatres. The centre specialises in scheduled eye operations performed under local or assisted local anaesthesia, enabling patients to return home the same day.
Surgical procedures are carried out on weekdays between 7.30am and 4.30pm, with around 20 staff on site to care for patients. The centre is permanently staffed by three doctors, including two surgeons and one anaesthetist.
The expansion at Cloche d'Or is part of a wider HRS strategy to give each hospital site a more specialised focus. The Cloche d'Or campus is prioritising planned outpatient procedures. Nearby, construction is underway on The Rock project, a new surgical centre designed exclusively for outpatient care, which is scheduled to open in spring 2028.
