At 2.30 am on Monday morning, police received a report of a man running riot in Remerschen. A patrol found the man next to a vehicle that had been reported as stolen the previous day.
As officers verified the man's identity, they found out that he did not have a driver's license and was wanted for a residential investigation.
The man was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Officers fined him and handed him a driving ban.
Earlier in the night, police received a report of a driver stopped in the middle of the road on Rue Pierre Gregoire. A police patrol was dispatched just after 11 pm to find a man had fallen asleep at the wheel of this car, having stopped in the middle of the road.
The police tested the man and found him to be driving under the influence. The man was also listed on the police system for an open prison sentence of six months and supposedly serving a driving ban. The police seized the vehicle, took the man to the police station, and then to Schrassig penitentiary.
