
In Bonnevoie, police were alerted to a motorist driving on the wrong side of the road. A patrol pulled the car over and checked the driver. They were found to be visibly intoxicated and well over the legal limit.
Elsewhere, the Grand Ducal police organised three alcohol check operations as ordered by the public prosecutor’s office. Patrols were dispatched to the Route de Luxembourg in Echternach, Route de Diekirch in Grundhof, and Diekirch rail station. 331 motorists were checked even if there were no indications of any violations. In four cases, the drivers failed to pass breathalyser tests, resulting in two verbal warnings and two fines. One person had their licence taken away. Three others were found to be in violation of the Highway Code.
