The first police Tesla was introduced last year and has made the headlines on several occasions, notably the instance in which a police Tesla broke down on the side of the motorway earlier this year.

Unfortunately, the calculations were off by just two kilometres, which led to the car stopping before it arrived at the garage.
The fleet of electric vehicles will increase to ten. Currently the police have two Teslas and two electric Volkswagen Golfs for patrols, and two further cars for administrative purposes. The new cars will form part of a pilot project. The police own around 800 vehicles at present.
