
Luxembourg police recorded a total of 267 offences among motorcyclists during a national road safety campaign conducted between 27 March and 26 April 2026.
Checks focused on mandatory equipment, the condition of motorcycles, and the validity of documents. Among the offences recorded, 25 fines were issued for speeding. On two occasions, speeds were so high that driving licences were confiscated on the spot.
Additionally, 41 bikers did not have all their documents in order. A total of 78 motorcyclists were fined due to the non-compliant condition of their vehicles, with tyres among the defective components on 16 motorcycles.
A further 31 fines were issued for dangerous driving, particularly for passing on the right or failing to indicate. In 13 cases, irregularities were noted regarding helmets, while in 23 cases, a yellow high-visibility vest was not carried on the vehicle.
During the period of increased checks, 13 motorcyclists were fined for failing to comply with traffic signs, 14 for illegal parking, and two riders were caught using their mobile phones.
