
Police received reports of three drunken individuals at Kautenbach station on Thursday. One of the men was said to have a machete with him. Officers were dispatched to the scene, where they found a man asleep on a bench, with the reported machete in an open backpack next to him. They seized the weapon and looked for the other two men, eventually locating them on a train. During the searches, officers found a bolt cutter, which was also confiscated. They issued a fine for possession of an illegal weapon.
Overnight, police were also alerted to the presence of an individual damaging parked vehicles in the area around Rue Aloyse Meyer in Luxembourg City. A patrol found four damaged vehicles, one with a broken window, and others with scratch marks and dents. Next to the vehicles they found tools which had been used to cause the damage. After an initial search without success, police eventually located an individual matching the description provided by witnesses, and took them into custody following a brief chase on foot.
An attempted mugging was reported on Thursday night after a man was approached by two masked individuals on Bisserweg in the Grund. The perpetrators threatened the victim with a knife and demanded he hand over his mobile phone. The victim ran away and the two attackers escaped, both riding one bicycle. Police conducted a search, but without success.
