The police were checking drivers for speeding on the N15 near Schumannseck and towards Buderscheid and ended up confiscating three driver's licenses within only 35 minutes.
The first driver was caught speeding at 144 km/h rather than the authorised 90 km/h, whereas a second had been reaching speeds of 157 km/h as the police stopped them. The third driver to have their license withdrawn had been caught at 163 km/h.
All three motorists were fined and forced to hand over their licenses on the spot.
A further incident of a speeding driver occurred in Esch-sur-Alzette, shortly after 1 am on Wednesday morning. The police received a report of a car driving so fast on Rue du Turin that their tires squealed.
A police patrol was dispatched and found the motorist not long after. The driver had been drinking, but his BAC levels were under 1.2. Ultimately, the driver was only fined.
