In the first trial, the man was found guilty of having tried to kill a woman with a knife in July 2017 in Kockelscheuer. She was stabbed in the back of her neck at least three times.

The convict decided to bring the case to trial again in the hopes of receiving a more lenient sentence the second time around, but it seems that this move will probably not pay off in the end.

In the appeals case, the prosecution has now demanded to increase his original prison sentence of 18 years to 20 years.

A final verdict will be pronounced on 13 February.
