During the week from 16 to 22 May, the number of positive PCR tests decreased by 30%, dropping from 2,700 to 1,900 in the span of seven days.

However, 600 fewer PCR tests were also conducted.

The number of active infections decreased from 6,200 to 5,000 during the same period of time.

Last week, three people died after having contracted Covid-19. Their average age was 82 years.

The situation in Luxembourg’s hospitals remained almost unchanged: twelve coronavirus patients were committed into regular care, two into intensive care.

The seven-day incidence rate per 100,000 residents was 291. The highest rate affected the age group of 30 to 44-year-olds.

83 people received their first vaccine jab last week. The country’s vaccination rate was 78.7%.
