Around 7.13 pm, Hesperange police officers had to engage in a dangerous car pursuit. The incident was provoked when a driver tried to escape a police check in route de Thionville at full speed, endangering several other cars while heading toward Frisange. He further skipped several red lights in the process of the pursuit, and even tried to push the police van off the road.
The race finally came to an end at the French border, where the Luxembourgish police had to abandon the pursuit. Investigations into the matter were initiated.
