Architects and EngineersReform of OAI law

RTL Today
After nearly three decades, the legal base guiding the OAI will be reformed to adapt to its current tasks.

The OAI, the Ordre des Architectes et Ingénieurs-Conseil, unites nearly 1000 professionals from the sector. It will now get an updated legal basis. The bill was presented by Lex Delles, Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises on Tuesday.

Two new professional categories will be included under the OAI umbrella: interior architects and surveyors. A minimum of 40 hour training over four years for all professions represented by the OAI will also be stipulated in the law.

The statute of optional OAI member is removed - meaning that the sector will be more strongly regulated and submitted to checks.
