Debate and discussion among RTL readers are set to move exclusively to social media platforms starting Saturday, 15 August. From this date, it will no longer be possible to comment directly beneath articles on RTL.lu, the French-language RTL INFOS, or our English-language RTL TODAY site.
Instead, all topic-specific debates will be centralised on the respective RTL social media channels.
Comments will still be welcome via social media, with Facebook, Instagram, and similar platforms maintaining their comment functionalities, except for certain specific cases where exceptions may apply.
We encourage all users to continue following proper etiquette on social media, just as they would on our websites: respectful, considerate interactions remain essential.
The law applies in the digital realm just as much as in real life: calls to hatred, racism, discrimination, or false generalisations are prohibited. To prevent the spread of misinformation or fake news, we ask everyone to verify the authenticity of information, check sources, and ensure they can substantiate claims before posting or sharing content.
If you encounter problematic content on RTL's social media pages, please report it directly to the platform operator and send us a message as well. Simply mentioning a concern in the comments or tagging RTL in a post is usually not sufficient, given the high volume of posts and tags.
Your help is appreciated in keeping our platforms safe and respectful.
RTL remains committed to engaging with your opinions, not only via social media. Our websites continue to offer interactive features such as polls, direct questions, article ratings, and the option to submit letters to the editor. Depending on the context, we will also keep inviting you to share photos or testimonials, for instance, during recent severe forest fires across Europe or, a few months ago, in response to the housing crisis in Luxembourg.
On radio, programmes such as 'Dir hutt d'Wuert' (broadcast as 'Invité vun der Redaktioun Spezial' at 8am) will continue to provide opportunities for listener input. The 'Carte blanche" segment on LU, or 'Letters' on Today, also give a wide range of people and societal representatives the chance to share their perspectives.
On television, we regularly seek audience sentiment through our 'Sonndesfro' and the 'Politmonitor' polls, both conducted in collaboration with Luxemburger Wort and the Luxembourg Institute for Social and Market Research (ILRES), which often include additional questions designed to gauge public interest in various topics.
