A runner with a personal connection to childhood cancer has raised more than €30,000 for the Children’s Cancer Foundation through an overnight race.

Benjamin Bodig recently took part in the Sainté Lyon, an 80km night race in France, to collect funds for the charity. His motivation stemmed from a close bond with Anne-Sophie Rust, whose son Gauthier died from leukaemia at the age of three.

Bodig’s fundraising efforts were bolstered by support from his employer, the Luxembourg Bar Association, which allowed him to use its internal mailing system. Through this channel, he was able to send an appeal for donations to every lawyer in Luxembourg.

The cheque was officially handed over during a ceremony in Strassen.
