At around 5.45am on Monday, a major crash took place on the slip road linking the A3 to the A1. Several cars were caught up in the collision, leading to a number of injuries, with the emergency services reporting a total of seven people hurt.
Fire crews from Roeserbann and Bettembourg were deployed, alongside ambulances from Bettembourg, Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette.
The accident caused major congestion during the morning rush hour, with tailbacks stretching to as much as nine kilometres at times.
An hour later, another accident occurred on the A3, this time near the border at Dudelange. Two cars collided, leaving one person injured.
At around 7.20am, an accident took place between Munsbach and Niederanven. Two vehicles collided there too, with two people injured. Alongside local emergency crews, the emergency medical service (SAMU) was also called to the scene.
A further accident was recorded at around 7.40am on the N3 between Alzingen and Schlammestee. Once again, two cars were involved, with one person requiring medical treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.
