The Abella house, in which the family has lived for the past 17 years, is located in Rue du Village in Steinheim. During the record-breaking floods at the end of June, water levels rose to 1.40 metres inside their home.

The family has recently changed location for a third time since their house became inhabitable. All apartments have been temporary solutions while they await the expert report on the damages.

Without knowing how much their insurance will cover, the Abellas cannot proceed with repair operations. However, since our colleagues from RTL paid their first visit to the family, some progress seems to have been made.

Insurance company Bâloise, which is in charge of the respective case, announced that they will meet with the family on 7 September to discuss further steps and concrete solutions.
