Police conducted three large-scale alcohol checks in Ettelbruck, Medernach and Diekirch between 11pm and 3 am on Friday night. 422 drivers had to take a breathalyzer test, which came back positive in 17 cases. Three drivers had to hand over their license on the spot.
One driver did not want to be checked in Ettelbruck. She turned her car around and started driving towards Schieren. Police found her vehicle parked in front of a restaurant. Officers quickly found that she was inebriated and not in possession of a driver's license.
Another driver was pulled over for dangerous driving. He was also found to be inebriated and had to hand over his driver's license on the spot. Police also seized his car as it did not have a valid technical inspection certificate.
Same story, different location: police suspended the licenses of two drivers in Esch and in Luxembourg City.
