The initiative was launched by the Robert Schuman Hospital Foundation

Hospitals across the country are facing protective gear shortages, so a sewing studio in Käerjeng started making suits for the Robert Schuman Hospital. Suits will also be distributed to other hospitals in the near future.

Due to high global demand of Tyvek suits, the foundation contacted the sewing studio in Käerjeng. They were happy to lend a helping hand. Waiting for the shipment from China was no option, so now they are being locally produced.

10 people are working at the studio. A total of 120 suits were tested by hospital staff. Contern-based company Dupont supplied the studio with Tyvek material, a fabric with high-density polyethylene fiber.

Nearly 300 suits are being sewn per day, distributed the following day at the hospital. The studio is aiming to increase production to 500 suits per day. The foundation funds a large part of the production, together with other companies in the Grand Duchy.

Work began in mid-March.
