The police were called out to Ettelbruck following reports of a burglary shortly after 1am on Friday, targeting a single-family house on Grand-rue. The suspect, who was carrying stolen items, was apprehended by the police following a search. The individual has been arrested and will be presented to the investigating magistrate.

Shortly before 4am on Friday morning, another burglar entered a home on Rue des Etats-Unis in the capital while its occupant was sleeping. The resident was disturbed after the thief turned on lights within the house, but was too slow to stop the suspect from escaping with their haul.

Another burglary was reported Thursday evening on Rue de la Deportation in Luxembourg City. A fence was damaged as a group of thieves attempted to enter the house from the back garden. Upon gaining entry, the gang searched every room in the house, taking valuables and destroying the property.

Elsewhere, burglars broke into a house on Rue des Romains in Strassen, forcing the main entry door. The police did not specify which items were taken in this incident.

In Esch-sur-Alzette, a house on Rue de l'Usine was subjected to the same treatment, as thieves escaped with valuable items without being spotted.

Police investigations have been launched for each incident.
