The tram has been making its rounds across Luxembourg City for the past two weeks, finally connecting Kirchberg to the central station in Gare. Boulevard Royal is one of the main junction points, which is why a new traffic light concept has been introduced to guarantee smooth circulation. A dynamic system now allows conductors to request green lights when approaching a crossing. City officials have nevertheless emphasised that car traffic will not be treated unfairly in the future.
Improvements have also been made in the pedestrian area, with better access to traffic lights for blind people.
