A small wooden booth, which, some say, resembles more of a garden shed, is in the process of being built in the stadium. The structure will be home to rescue services, police forces as well as the stadium announcers. Mayor Lydie Polfer however prefers the term "container".
While the budget estimates were off, this was not a case of a "cost explosion", claims Polfer.
Nevertheless, the initial 2014 budget plans that lay at 30 to 35 million Euro surged up to 58 million the following year, before climbing once again in 2016 to 61 million - only to be succeeded by another 18 million Euro increase now.
The planning and development department in charge of the project seems to have made several mistakes when drawing up plans. They will be sanctioned.
