
As FEBIAC announced, the market share of pure electric vehicles doubled compared to this time previously. By the end of August, electric vehicles represented 1.7% of the market share, having laid at 0.8% this time last year.
Hybrids and plug-in hybrids have also seen increases, rising from 3.4% to 4.8% in representation. Globally, the government's electric mobility grant has been a success story in terms of incentivising customers to move to electric vehicles.
Petrol-based vehicles have also seen increased shares, but diesel market shares have dropped from 46.9% to 42.4%. The next years will also see hundreds of new electric vehicle models presented.
