The collective agreement concerns around 3,200 employees of the supermarket chain. The recent picket lines seem to have borne fruit.

Trade unions OGBL and LCGB have announced that a supplementary cause of the collective agreement of 3,200 Cactus employees was signed this Friday morning with the management of the supermarket chain.

Both negotiating sides had come to a preliminary agreement on Valentine's Day. Employees had picketed in front of various Cactus supermarkets up until that day to make their demand heard.

The new agreement will be valid for three years until the end of 2022. Key elements of the revised text include higher wages, quicker career advancement, and merit payments. Employees will also be entitled to longer breaks (20 minutes instead of 15 minutes).

According to the trade unions, the social conflict has finally come to an end after long and at times difficult negotiations. Constructive dialogue is now possible again, they concluded.
