Police received reports on Tuesday night that a backpack had been stolen from a vehicle on Avenue de la Gare in Diekirch.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the culprit had smashed a window, searched the car, and made off with a backpack. A police patrol was able to locate the suspect shortly afterwards.
Further enquiries established that the same individual was also linked to another vehicle break-in that had occurred shortly before. The suspect was subsequently arrested.
