On Tuesday afternoon, railway traffic began to improve and run on schedule following the cancellations and delays, according to the CFL's spokeswoman Sandy Nonnweiler.

The cause of the issue was damage to a cable that occurred on Monday night at the construction site. During the time it took to repair the damage, the railway network suffered delays.

The technical error especially affected cross-border trains from France during the course of Tuesday morning. As railway traffic progressively improves, it is likely that trains will be on schedule for the evening rush hour.
